Holland Hall Slam Poetry Team members, Loren Marshall, Brianna Hayden, Sarah Redmond, Liam Carey, Declan Kiely, Tom LoVoi and Jack Crawford led by Nathan Parker recently competed at the Louder Than A Bomb preliminary competition on January 29 in Tulsa, Ok.
The poems performed included:
Group Poem: “That’s Not A Cause Worth Fighting For” performed by Loren Marshall, Bri Hayden, Declan Kiely, Sarah Redmond
Indie Poems:
“Our Nation Is An Airplane” by Liam Carey
“Eulogy for the IRA” by Declan Kiely
“Pecan Pie” by Loren Marshall
“Ahabs of the 21st Century” by Tom LoVoi
The team won their preliminary bout, and is advancing to State Finals on Feb. 21.
Liam Carey won the individual bout, and is advancing to State Finals on Feb. 19.
